Requirements

To apply for a contractor’s business license the following is required:

• Proof of licensing or testing – when applicable. The City of Centennial currently accepts proof of testing from Denver, Aurora and the ICC. State licensing is required for electrical and master plumber contractors.
• Proof of General Liability Insurance listing the City of Centennial as a Certificate Holder. See Contractor License Insurance Requirements.
• Proof of Workers Compensation Insurance listing the City of Centennial as a Certificate Holder, or a Waiver for Worker's Compensation Insurance in the case that the company has no employees. See Contractor License Insurance Requirements.

Who is required to obtain a contractor license?

The City requires the following types of contractors to submit proof of testing in order to obtain a license:  General contractors class A, B, and C, HVAC, and Steam and Hot Water.

Does the City of Centennial accept other cities' licensing/testing?

The City of Centennial has reciprocity with the following jurisdictions: Denver and Aurora. We also accept ICC (International Code Council) testing.
